CirCLER project presnts the webinar “Women Leading R&D&i for a Circular Furniture Sector”
This webinar will explore women-led R&D&i initiatives, innovative circular strategies, and the challenges faced by women working in scientific and technological environments linked to the furniture industry.

On 10 June 2026 at 10:00 CEST, the second session of the Women for Circular Furniture Conferences Cycle will take place online, bringing together women researchers, innovators, and professionals driving the circular transition of the European furniture sector through research, development, and innovation.
The event, hosted by CETEM within the framework of the CirCLER project, will open with a keynote speech by Xue Pei, Assistant Professor at the Design+Strategies Research Lab of Politecnico di Milano, entitled “Circular Transition in the Furniture Sector: Design Strategies for Product, Business Model, and Ecosystem.
Following the keynote, participants will discover several European projects and research initiatives contributing to circular innovation in the furniture sector:

This online conference continues the Women for Circular Furniture Conferences Cycle initiative launched by the CirCLER project to promote visibility, collaboration, and leadership opportunities for women contributing to a more sustainable and circular furniture industry.
Recent research highlights that gender perspectives remain underrepresented in circular economy policies and practices, despite their strong potential to foster more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable solutions. Studies also show that women often bring greater attention to environmental sustainability, social impacts, collaboration, and long-term value creation within circular initiatives. Through this webinar, we aim to give visibility to women leading R&D&i activities in the furniture sector and to encourage more diverse perspectives in shaping the future of circular industries.
