INSET project webinar: turning knowledge into action for industrial symbiosis

On 16 October 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 CET, the final webinar of the European project INSET will take place. This online event is organised as part of #ErasmusDays 2026 and is titled “Shaping the Future of Industrial Symbiosis: The INSET Observatory and Policy Brief”.

The session will revolve around a key question: how can knowledge and evidence be transformed into effective action for industrial symbiosis? To answer it, the webinar will bring together two of the project’s main results:

• The INSET Industrial Symbiosis Observatory, a practical resource providing access to relevant knowledge, initiatives, tools and developments in the field of industrial symbiosis.
• The INSET Policy Brief, which presents the key findings and recommendations to support the wider uptake of industrial symbiosis.

The webinar will open with a welcome and framing of the session by the project coordinator (UNISTRA), followed by an introduction to INSET from RDAPM. SIMBIOSY and SYXIS will then present the purpose and content of the Observatory, including a live walkthrough, and UNISTRA and SFC will set out the evidence and policy recommendations of the Policy Brief.

CETEM will moderate the stakeholder discussion and Q&A, an open space to share perspectives and exchange experiences. The session will close with the key takeaways, access to the INSET results and next steps, as well as an evaluation survey and closing remarks.

The event is open to policymakers, public authorities, education and training providers, researchers, companies, business associations, practitioners and other stakeholders interested in industrial symbiosis, the circular economy and sustainable industrial development.
