Who we are
The Technology Centre of Furniture and Wood of the Region of Murcia (CETEM) is a private and non-profit organisation located in the town of Yecla, one of the most important furniture clusters in Spain.
Over the last 20 years CETEM has been promoting and implementing innovation and technological development in the Furniture Sector, becoming the main business reference in the industry and an important economic engine in the Region of Murcia.
Our main objective is to promote and undertake research and development activities, as well as innovative technology projects and services in order to improve, promote and encourage the development and continuous improvement of companies in the furniture and wood industry and related services making them more competitive.
Its creation in 1994 was promoted by the Institute Building of the Region of Murcia (INFO), the Regional Association of Employers of Wood (AREMA), the Technological Institute of Furniture (AIDIMA), the City Hall of Yecla, the Office of Industry and Tourism, the Ministry of Industry and Energy and the European Community.
CETEM is recognised as a Technology and Innovation Centre (CIT number 83) and as a Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) with the number 34.
Our mission, vision and values are oriented towards the daily action of all the potential agents contributing to the continuous improvement of the furniture and wood industry: companies in the sector, research associations, universities, collaborators and the technology centre staff.
CETEM’s mission is:
1.- To develop and manage activities, services and projects in the technological and innovative field.
2.- To promote innovative actions in management.
3.- To make clear your own and external technology and knowledge.
The primary objective is to improve, promote and encourage development, continuous improvement and competitiveness of associated companies and customers, with special emphasis on furniture and related sector.
CETEM’s view is:
Being a sustainable technology centre at economic, social and environmental level, which counts on necessary strategic alliances with organizers for the development of its mission, and focused to be:
1.- An international centre of excellence as a provider of knowledge and technology.
2.- A leader in technological knowledge related to the furniture sector.
3.- Formed by a highly qualified and motivated team to forward a high level of satisfaction among its partners, customers and partners.
