The European MASTERY project has mapped out the roadmap for its final phase following the consortium meeting in Bulgaria
CETEM is taking part in the technical evaluation of the green micro-credential pilot projects, the results of which will form the basis for drawing up future policy recommendations in the EU.

The consortium behind the European MASTERY (Micro-credentials Empowering Sustainable Skills) project, of which CETEM is a partner, held its penultimate transnational meeting last week in Borovets (Bulgaria). This meeting proved crucial for analysing the technical results of the pilot phase, finalising Work Package 4 (WP4) and defining the strategic actions ahead of the initiative’s conclusion in December 2026.
During the working sessions, the partners carried out a thorough review of the key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting processes for the various pilot projects. These practical experiences have enabled the testing of short training pathways, aligned with levels 5 and 6 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), specifically designed to equip professionals and students with green skills geared towards the circular economy.
The exchange of data between the participating pilot centres helped to identify common challenges, identify methodological success factors and explore the mechanisms that could facilitate the consistent, large-scale adoption of micro-credentials within the European educational landscape.
Furthermore, the initial results of the workshops linked to Work Package 5 (WP5) were presented at the Borovets meeting. The consortium members discussed the various technical approaches that will guide the drafting of policy recommendations over the coming months, with a view to standardising the validation of these competences by the relevant authorities.
Finally, the meeting’s agenda included detailed planning of communication and results dissemination activities up to the end of the year, the design of strategies to engage key stakeholders in the sector, and the organisation of the official MASTERY closing event. With this milestone, the project is entering its final phase, focusing on consolidating its methodological tools and ensuring a lasting impact on lifelong learning in Europe.
