The FITT-NESS project is using the Yecla Furniture Fair as an opportunity to hold its second Twinning Action
The event brought together companies from Portugal, Italy and the Region of Murcia to discuss their needs and objectives, and to begin forging future partnerships between the regions.

During the last week of May, to coincide with the Furniture Fair, an event was held in Yecla as part of the Twinning Actions of the FITT-NESS project, bringing together companies from the furniture and home furnishings sector from three different regions: Portugal, the Region of Murcia and Italy.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to visit two companies that play an active role in the project: ECUS and Grupo SIM. Both companies, based in Yecla, opened their doors to showcase their facilities, how they operate, and their involvement in the initiative. These visits allowed participants to see concrete success stories at first hand, exchange views with the local teams and forge direct links that will undoubtedly continue beyond the event. The on-site experience proved both enriching and inspiring for all the companies in attendance.
In addition, participants had the opportunity to visit the iconic Yecla Furniture Fair, Spain’s longest-running event of its kind, during its 64th edition. As a leading showcase for the furniture sector both nationally and internationally, the fair provided an opportunity to discover the latest trends and network with other professionals in the industry.
Finally, the event was also attended by Cristina Zanni, an advisor with the employment service of the Province of Monza and Brianza (Italy), who shared her extensive experience in training, career guidance and entrepreneurship.
The main value of this meeting was that the exchange between companies from the three regions helped to identify shared needs, align objectives and, above all, lay the foundations for future strategic partnerships. By bringing together organisations from different innovation ecosystems, the event helped to strengthen ties and foster new collaborations that can support the sustainable growth and competitiveness of SMEs across Europe.
In September, the Italian city of Palermo will host the final Twinning Action planned as part of the project, with the aim of promoting networking and partnerships between companies in the sector to strengthen the furniture industry’s value chain.
