VITIA – Smart pruning in vineyards using AI, computer vision and precision automation

The aim of the VITIA project is to develop an automated pruning system specifically designed for vineyards. The outcome of the project will be a structure adaptable to existing agricultural machinery, comprising manipulators with precision cutting systems, an advanced computer vision system based on artificial intelligence for detecting vine shoots and buds, and an artificial intelligence model that will analyse vine data to perform precise cuts that improve plant health, enhance grape quality and ensure greater productivity.
