The objective is to carry out a robotics project based on research into navigation, localisation and operational planning algorithms and, on the basis of the research results obtained, the development of an affordable functional prototype of a mobile robot capable of automating the entire supply cycle, solving a useful problem in the sector for which current technologies have not provided a real solution.

Expected results:

Investigating the usability of location and autonomous navigation algorithms for the development of a mobile sourcing technology for the upholstered furniture sector.

Demonstrate the functionality of mobile robotics as the epicentre of production planning and management in a given section, being able to make autonomous supply and delivery decisions to the workstations involved.

Validate the adaptability of AGVs for use as key logistics management systems in chaotic production plants and changing environments.

To increase knowledge in the field of the development of tailor-made software solutions for specific processes in the sector.

Introduce the use of self-driving vehicles in the operational management and procurement and supply flows of habitat processes.

Validate the hybridisation of mobile and collaborative robotics and their integration with manual manufacturing processes.

To raise awareness of mobile robotics in companies in the sector.
