Expected results:
Obtaining the fraction of extractives, identification, quantification and recovery of polyphenolic compounds of commercial interest.
Optimization of physical and/or biological treatments auxiliary to alkaline hydrolysis that improve the performance in the fractionation of lignocellulosic biomass.
Optimization of enzymatic hydrolysis processes that maximize the obtaining of sugars from the polysaccharides from the fractionation of the lignocellulosic biomass studied.
Increase the quality of the lignin obtained in relation to its properties such as phenolic content, glass transition temperature and/or molecular weight distribution, determinants for its use in bioadhesive processes.
Obtaining bioadhesives from chemical modification processes of lignin and recovered polyphenols, with viable adhesive capacity and curing temperatures.
Production of lactic acid from the fermentation of the sugars obtained after the enzymatic hydrolysis of the pretreated biomass.
Manufacture of composites from the final post-fractionation biomass residue that avoids its classification as waste and determination of its physical-mechanical properties.
Contribution to the management of waste from the agri-food sector and facilitate progress towards a circular economy and industrial symbiosis.
Strengthening bidirectional work between two reference technology centers in their sectors, environment and habitat and compliance with the work plan for the execution of this project at both a technical, economic and temporal level.
