The StreetRevival project holds its launch meeting in Thessaloniki

The StreetRevival project – ‘Revitalising public spaces through the co-design of place-based innovative street furniture’ – has officially begun, with the first in-person consortium meeting taking place this Friday in Thessaloniki (Greece), where the 21 organisations from across Europe participating in the initiative came together.

This new project aims to revitalise public spaces through the collaborative design of innovative street furniture tailored to the environment, bringing together the expertise of cities, research and technology organisations, businesses and local communities.

During the kick-off meeting, the partners agreed on the project’s objectives, work plan, governance and upcoming activities, whilst discussing how collaborative approaches can help to rethink the design and use of public spaces across Europe.

For CETEM, the meeting marked the start of its contribution to a project closely linked to its expertise in furniture, materials, design and innovation.

Over the coming months, the consortium will work on developing co-creation processes, innovative solutions and project activities designed to meet the real needs of urban environments and their users.

The meeting also provided an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the partners and establish a shared vision for the launch of StreetRevival.

CETEM hopes to contribute to the project and support the development of more attractive, functional and people-centred public spaces across Europe.
