Circular Economy

 

CETEM is a groundbreaker in dealing with sustainability in industry, developing different lines of research in circular economy. From using new sustainable materials, minimising waste generated in the different production processes, promoting and implementing eco-labelling and environmental management systems, or analysing new business models. Tools aimed at closing the loop in industry, reducing both the use of raw materials and the generation of waste.

Ecodesign

 

Designing products applying new technologies, such as additive manufacturing or virtual reality, and sustainable materials to minimise the environmental impact of such products.

 

Industrial symbiosis

 

Valorisation of by-products from different manufacturing industries, such as agribusiness, for incorporating them into new products, such as boards or foams, reducing the use of raw materials.

 

Twin green and digital transition

 

Implementing new technologies in different production processes with the goal of improving productivity and environmental efficiency.

 

Ecolabelling

 

Helping in the use of environmental labels, such as FSC or PEFC, which certify the use of raw materials and sustainable production processes.

Eco-management

 

Developing eco-management schemes, such as ISO 14001 or EMAS, which ensure better environmental efficiency.
