CETEM DESIGN AWARD: La 27ª edición contará con un jurado de renombre internacional

The prestigious CETEM DESIGN AWARD is preparing to celebrate its 27th edition. For this reason, on 4 October, a jury of true luxury will select this year’s winners, once the corresponding prototypes have already been made. This award, whose objective is to promote the relationship between designers and companies in the furniture sector, as well as to foster the culture of design and its impact on innovation and business success, is about to reveal its lucky winners.

In an effort to ensure transparency and excellence in the choice of the winning prototypes, the organising committee of the CETEM DESIGN AWARD has convened a select list of internationally renowned experts. A few days after the jury meeting, in mid-October, the awards ceremony will take place, where the winners of this edition will be announced.

The members of the jury for this 27th edition of the CETEM DESIGN AWARD are:

José Francisco Puche: Director of CETEM and Vice President of the Spanish Federation of Technology Centres (FEDIT).

Javier Herrero: Founder of Javier Herrero* Studio. He has worked for leading companies such as LZF, Sancal, Expormim, Frajumar or Escofet among others. Awarded 1st Prize IIDA 2009, in Hospitality & Design, Las Vegas (USA) with “Air Chairs” and nominated for Interior Design Magazine’s (USA) Best Of the Year Award 2012. With “Raindrop”, among other awards.

Guillermo Rubio: together with Julián Garnés, he runs the Rubio & del Amo studio in Murcia. His studio has received important awards such as the ADC*E Silver Award. Two LAUS awards (Gold and Bronze), selected by the ADG-FAD to design the ADG-Laus Magabook, among others.

Juana M. Valcárcel: Designer and teacher. President of the Dip \ Association of Design and Advertising Communication Professionals of the Region of Murcia.

Elena Castaño (SANCAL): Art director of SANCAL, a leading company in innovation in the sector.

Francisco L. Juan (BELTA&FRAJUMAR): CEO and partner of Beltafrajumar, a renowned company in the field of furniture design.

The CETEM DESIGN AWARD has established itself as a benchmark in the world of furniture design, being the oldest design competition in Spain that has been held uninterruptedly since its inception and this 27th edition promises to be a memorable celebration that highlights the importance of design in the furniture industry.
