On the 13th and 14th of December 2023, the final meeting of the D3PO project partners took place in Valladolid, Spain, hosted by ASPAYM. Partners from Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Greece convened to conclude the project’s results.

The consortium is pleased to announce the availability of the User Professional Manual for the 10 puzzles in English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Greek. These puzzles, developed using 3D printing technology, are suitable for use with diverse target groups, including elderly individuals, adults with special learning disorders, cancer patients, and adults aged 60 and above.

The design of a collection of 3D printable puzzles and a professional manual where the reader can learn how to assemble the puzzle, solve it and put it back together. For each puzzle you will find inside: one exercise guide in English, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese, the renders, the STL files and photos of the 3D printed puzzles.

The consortium has already developed the 10 puzzles related to 3D printing technology, and they can be downloaded via the following link. The Professional User’s Manual will be utilized by facilitators guiding groups using the puzzles. Within the manual, facilitators can find comprehensive instructions on puzzle usage and its intended purposes.

It includes information on puzzle assembly, preparation for use, and, notably, steps to solve the “escape box” puzzle. To enhance accessibility, the partners have created video tutorials for assembling and solving the puzzles, accessible through QR codes embedded in the manual.

Additionally, a methodological handbook on puzzle usage and implementation in therapeutic processes will soon be presented. This manual is divided into two main sections:

  • Chapters focused on the methodology for applying 3D puzzles to enhance the physical and psychological well-being of the user.
  • A dossier containing the evaluation of results obtained from applying puzzles to test groups. It analyzes the results and provides explanations, identifying key elements in methodology, participants, and their interplay.

On December 13th, the partners collectively organized a multiplier event at the Emilio Ferrari Institute in Valladolid. Over 60 people of various backgrounds and ages participated, trying out the puzzles after a brief project introduction. The participants displayed enthusiasm and interest in the project.
