Experts from the French Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers explored the tradition of woodcarving in Yecla during their visit last week.
Guided by a local craftsman, they delved into the history and techniques of this ancient craft, while touring the Museo Mariano Virgen del Castillo and the Museo de la Semana Santa to appreciate emblematic works.
This research is part of the European project CRAEFT, where CETEM participates as a model for woodcarving crafts, the project works with the aim of protecting and promoting traditional crafts such as glassblowing, ceramics and tapestry making. The visit of the French experts strengthens the cultural and research links between the two nations, enriching the knowledge of European craft heritage.
