CETEM reinforces its commitment to innovation as a member of the Spanish Forestry Technology Platform (PTFOR)
La integración de CETEM en PTFOR refuerza su compromiso con las pymes, facilitando el acceso a información estratégica, financiación y colaboración en sostenibilidad, economía circular y digitalización para mejorar la competitividad del sector.

The Technological Center for Furniture and Wood of the Murcia Region (CETEM) is part of the Spanish Forest Technology Platform and its Derived Industries (PTFOR), a national cooperation network aimed at promoting R&D&i in the forestry sector and all its associated value chains, including the furniture industry and wood-derived products.
CETEM’s membership in PTFOR is part of its strategy to support local SMEs, facilitating their access to strategic information, funding opportunities, and public-private collaboration spaces in key areas such as sustainability, circular economy, new materials, and industrial digitalization. CETEM actively encourages companies in the furniture, wood, and habitat sectors to engage with this platform and consider joining it as a real lever to enhance their competitiveness.
PTFOR’s main objective is to promote the efficient use of resources and strengthen the sector’s innovative capacity through the coordination of business agents, technological centers, universities, and public administrations. To this end, it drives the Strategic Research Agenda for the forestry sector, aligned with European priorities, and maintains ongoing dialogue with those responsible for public R&D&i support programs at both national and European levels.
One of PTFOR’s distinguishing strengths is its role as a bridge between the real needs of companies and the available funding instruments. The platform actively participates in defining aid programs, launches alerts about relevant calls, supports the search for partners for collaborative projects, and facilitates the transfer of results among different actors within the innovation ecosystem.
Additionally, PTFOR is part of the Interplatform Circular Economy Group, along with other Spanish technology platforms, and participates in strategic forums such as Transfiere, the main European event for science, technology, and innovation held in Málaga. Internationally, it acts as Spain’s representative in the European Forest Technology Platform, contributing to defining research priorities for the sector at the continental level.
PTFOR’s activities range from research and strategic coordination to sectoral dynamization and communication, offering resources such as research agendas, training maps, technical workshops, and knowledge exchange spaces.
CETEM believes that the active participation of companies in PTFOR is a clear opportunity to anticipate the regulatory, technological, and market challenges facing the sector. Networked innovation is no longer optional—it is a strategic necessity. For this reason, CETEM invites companies in its environment to get to know the platform firsthand and join this community working to build a more innovative, sustainable, and competitive forestry and furniture sector.
