CETEM attends the International Cultural Heritage Fair in Paris as part of the CRAEFT Project
The International Heritage Exhibition brings together and brings together all the main players in the sector, from professionals in the restoration, conservation and enhancement of heritage, as well as public institutions and educational and research institutions.
On November 23 and 24, the CRAEFT project partners gathered at the French National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts to discuss the progress of the project, which is now at its halfway point.
The CRAEFT project aims to deepen the understanding of craftsmanship and promote its preservation and value through applied training, using new technologies and digital tools. Among the various European craft traditions, CRAEFT has focused on the wood carving tradition of Yecla. CETEM has worked on studying the history and significance of this craft and has also recorded a local artisan to fully digitize the carving process. This material will be used to develop educational tools, which will be implemented over the coming year.
During their visit, CRAEFT partners also attended the International Cultural Heritage Fair, organized by the Association of Craftsmen of France at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. This event gathers over 300 exhibitors and receives more than 20,000 visitors from various countries each year.
The International Cultural Heritage Fair is a key meeting point for major players in the sector, from restoration, conservation, and heritage enhancement professionals to public institutions, educational bodies, and research institutions. The CRAEFT project was presented as part of CRAFTOUR, a network of over six European projects dedicated to preserving craftsmanship, which aims to become the main collaborative space and meeting point for European stakeholders interested in this field.
