CETEM and the partners of the AccesS project are making progress in Bari towards more accessible and smart cities

During the meeting, the partners reviewed the project’s progress, focusing on the development of solutions to improve accessibility, sustainable mobility and energy efficiency in urban environments.

CETEM attended a further follow-up meeting for the European project AccesS – Enhancing Accessibility and Sustainability in Smart Cities and Smart Buildings, funded by the Horizon Europe programme.

During the meeting, the consortium partners reviewed the project’s technical and strategic progress, focusing on the development of innovative solutions aimed at improving accessibility, sustainable mobility and energy efficiency in urban environments and smart buildings.

Among the key topics discussed were the identification of emerging technologies applied to universal accessibility, the analysis of market trends relating to inclusive and sustainable mobility, and the evaluation of digital tools to enhance the independence and user experience of people with disabilities and older people.

The discussion also covered various challenges that still exist in the field of smart cities, such as the need to incorporate user-centred design, reduce technological and economic barriers, and move towards models that combine sustainability, comfort and accessibility.

In this context, CETEM continues to contribute actively to the project by evaluating technological solutions, analysing best practices, and studying trends and regulations relating to accessibility and smart mobility.

The AccesS project aims to promote more inclusive, safe and sustainable urban environments, by ensuring equal access and improving citizens’ quality of life
