Main activities

• Definition of a new concept: intelligent sensory furniture for the care of people, their safety and prevention in a geriatric centre environment.
• Development of a hardware infrastructure integrated in sensor and actuator furniture, which captures information about the elderly person and enables intelligent and automatic decision-making.
• Creation of a wireless communication structure for the sensors/actuators and the AmI system.
• Construction of a software middleware that creates a set of services for the correct management of the furniture, monitoring and control, offering intelligent and autonomous capabilities.

Expected results:

1

Implementation of sensor and actuator circuits with wireless communication.

2

Specific design and construction of different prototypes of intelligent furniture (beds, armchairs, tables…) with integrated electronic elements.

3

Complete ambient intelligence system validated in nursing homes.
