Expected results:

Sensors and devices based on the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, and other cutting-edge techniques and technologies will be deployed in hospitality establishments in the Region to extract information on social distance indoors, the degree of occupancy, the detection of coronavirus in wastewater, autonomously taking clients’ body temperatures or detecting the number of particles in the air (related to the presence of viruses). In addition, the automatic activation of different disinfection devices and/or warnings will be included in order to improve safety and prevention conditions in indoor spaces.

These are some of the actions aimed at the early detection of the coronavirus that will be carried out to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 in these establishments. In this way, the Administration and citizens will be able to regain trust in hotels, restaurants and cafes.

HORECoV-21 project financed through the Call for Public Aid aimed at financing the strategic projects contemplated in the Research and Innovation Strategy for Intelligent Specialization – RIS3MUR Strategy by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the Ministry of Economic Development, Tourism and Employment within the framework of the ERDF Operational Program Region of Murcia 2014-2020 within the framework of Thematic Objective 1.
