ECOADDITIVE
The main objective of the ECOADDITIVE project is to develop and validate a recycled material from the waste generated during the 3D printing process by configuring and integrating plastic recycling technologies.
More information
Expected results:
To increase knowledge about the recycling processes of plastic materials obtained from 3D printing processes, especially in the case of the most commonly used materials, such as PLA.
Knowledge of the properties of materials resulting from plastic recycling processes and their characteristics for use as raw materials in 3D printing using FDM technology.
To know the limits in terms of recycling cycles of PLA material for 3D printing and the proportions of recovered material versus virgin material at the beginning of the process.
Reducing the environmental impact of a 3D printing technology and material, such as FDM and PLA, which are booming worldwide.
Validate the recycled material, by testing on the filament itself, and by testing on printed plastic samples, at different levels and in different areas.
To promote the use of 3D printing in SMEs in the furniture and wood sector.
To strengthen CETEM’s technical capabilities in the areas of plastics recycling, new materials development and additive manufacturing.
