(Fostering Innovation & the Twin Transition for iNclusive EnvironmentS and Smart homes)

FITT-NESS aims to strengthen and support SMEs in the furniture sector by creating regional innovation ecosystems. It focuses on innovative areas such as smart homes, adaptive environments for the elderly and green housing, promoting the twin transition (digital and sustainable). It includes less developed regions such as Murcia (Spain) and Northern Portugal, together with a pilot approach in Sicily, under the example of Lombardy as a leading region. 

Expected results:

Creation of an interregional network for innovation in the furniture sector.

Strengthening digital and sustainable capabilities of SMEs in less developed areas.

Development of joint investment plans and innovation support tools.

Promotion of cooperation among quadruple-helix stakeholders (academia, businesses, governments, and society).

Generation of new sustainable and collaborative business models.

Implementation of pilot activities in Sicily to replicate results and expand the project’s scope.
