Paving the way to the Circular Economy for the over 60s

The SEN4CE project stands out for its commitment to empower older people, often marginalised or overlooked in sustainability discussions, to become active agents of change.

The SEN4CE project consortium is currently in Graz, Austria, for its last face-to-face project meeting, which is scheduled to conclude in April 2024. Over two days, consortium members will discuss the progress of training materials designed to promote the uptake of the Circular Economy among people aged 60+, encouraging them to become active participants in their communities and in society at large.

The training material developed in the framework of the SEN4CE project addresses key issues related to the Circular Economy, such as recycling and reuse of products. This educational resource is expected to be available to the public later this year via an online platform. It will provide the opportunity to acquire essential knowledge on how to contribute to sustainable development through good practices in their daily lives.

In addition, a pilot test will be carried out in all participating countries of the consortium, including Spain, Portugal, Germany, France and Austria, which will allow the effectiveness of the training material to be evaluated and valuable feedback from end-users to be gathered before its full launch.

The Circular Economy has become a crucial approach to address environmental and economic challenges. The SEN4CE project stands out for its commitment to empower older people, often marginalised or overlooked in sustainability discussions, to become active agents of change. By providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge, the project aims not only to reduce environmental impacts, but also to strengthen social inclusion and a sense of belonging in local communities.
