TECHGROW: Technological Watch for the future of traditional manufacturing industries

A groundbreaking project that will drive technological watch processes across the textile, footwear, and furniture sectors throughout Europe.

The TechGrow project, which recently commenced, aims to strengthen awareness of technological watch processes within the European traditional manufacturing industry, with a specific focus on the footwear, textile, and furniture sectors.

Technological watch emerges as a crucial tool enabling businesses to stay abreast of the latest developments that may impact them, thereby facilitating strategic decision-making. However, many companies, particularly small and medium enterprises of traditional sectors, fail to conduct systematic technological watch. TechGrow targets these enterprises by providing innovative digital tools for easily accessing up-to-date information. Additionally, it offers educational resources to empower workers in implementing systematic technological watch processes within their companies.

The project will also offer guides and infographics as foundational materials for developing new training courses by any interested training organisation. All outcomes will be accessible through the project’s upcoming website, providing detailed information on progress and results.

TechGrow, initiated in November, is led by prominent European entities: CETEM (Technological Centre of Furniture and Wood of the Region of Murcia, Spain), CLUTEX (Textile Cluster of the Czech Republic), CTCP (Technological Centre of Footwear of Portugal), and FEDIT (Spanish Federation of Technological Centres).

The project is financially supported by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program, with a total budget of €60,000, allocated for the development of all activities over the course of one year. This ambitious initiative seeks to enhance competitiveness and sustainable growth in the traditional manufacturing industry in Europe.
