Successful closing of the CROCEMS project to boost collaborative robotics in industrial waste management
CETEM leads the closing of #CROCEMS: training in collaborative robotics to automate industrial waste management.

The Furniture and Wood Technology Centre (CETEM) has successfully led the European project CROCEMS, whose objective has been to develop a specialised training course to adapt Collaborative Robotics units to the automation of waste management in manufacturing sectors, promoting circular business models. After three years of joint work, the project consortium has met for the last time in Bilbao to evaluate the achievements.
The CROCEMS project has achieved outstanding results that will significantly benefit the manufacturing industry:
- Development of a training course composed of six modules including videos, presentations, manuals and interactive activities.
- Creation of a MOOC platform open 24/7, which has received more than 100 visits since its launch in November 2024.
- Implementation of a successful pilot with more than 80 enrolments from Spain, France, Poland, Germany, Austria and Mexico.
- Definition of five strategic priorities (INFORM, FINANCE, GUIDE, CONNECT and TRAIN) to facilitate the integration of collaborative robotics and the circular economy in the industrial sector.
These achievements position CROCEMS as a benchmark in training and technological adaptation towards more sustainable and efficient production processes, contributing to improve the competitiveness of manufacturing companies.
