CETEM rewards excellence in furniture design: Registration is now open for the CETEM DESIGN AWARD

CETEM has opened the call for applications for the CETEM DESIGN AWARD, awards designed to recognise creativity, innovation and excellence in furniture design. The initiative seeks to raise the profile of companies and studios that are transforming the home furnishings sector with innovative and sustainable products.

Furniture design has undergone a remarkable evolution in recent years. Current trends show a clear interest in multifunctional pieces that can be adapted to small spaces and combine aesthetics and functionality. In addition, the use of sustainable and recycled materials, as well as technological solutions that improve the user experience, have become key elements in differentiating products in an increasingly competitive market. Spanish companies such as SANCAL, VONDOM and BirdMind have been internationally recognised for their ability to integrate innovation and design into their collections, setting the standard for the industry.

The CETEM DESIGN AWARD offers participating companies a unique showcase to display their products to industry experts, specialised media and potential customers. Criteria such as technical and formal innovation, functionality, use of sustainable materials and aesthetic appeal will be assessed. Participation is open to products already on the market or prototypes, and registration will remain open until 30 December.

In addition, some confirmed names for the jury have already been announced, such as Miguel Leiro, winner of the 2025 National Design Award in the Young Professionals category, and Sancal, winner of the 2024 National Design and Business Award and internationally recognised as a benchmark in contemporary furniture.
