CETEM participates in Ljubljana in the launch of the European BIOWISE project

The first meeting of the BIOWISE project laid the foundations for the work and established the training framework on which discussion groups, bibliographic analysis and surveys will be based.

The BIOWISE project officially kicked off with a launch meeting held at the University of Ljubljana on 27 and 28 January. CETEM is one of the partners in the consortium of this European initiative funded by the Erasmus+ programme (KA220-HED), which aims to accelerate the transition to bio-based and climate-smart materials in the wood, textile and furniture sectors.

Coordinated by the Centre for Climate Research at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW, Poland), BIOWISE has been selected from among 150 different proposals, a recognition that highlights its high technical quality, innovative approach and relevance at European level.

BIOWISE took its first steps last December and will work for three years to provide students and professionals with advanced knowledge in biotechnology applied to sustainable materials. In this way, the initiative seeks to contribute to the promotion of the circular economy and adaptation to climate change. The main expected results include the creation of a digital learning hub, a modular training programme and a practical laboratory manual focused on the real-world application of bio-based solutions.

During the project launch meeting, the partner organisations established the working basis and defined the training framework to be developed over the coming months. This process will be supported by discussion groups with experts, bibliographic analysis and best practices, as well as surveys aimed at key players in the sectors involved, in order to identify real needs and ensure the relevance of the training content.

Through its participation in BIOWISE, CETEM reinforces its commitment to innovation, training and sustainability, as well as to European cooperation for the development of solutions that drive the transformation of the sector towards more sustainable, resilient and competitive models.
