CETEM participates in the launch of the European ReCare project, aimed at improving training in community care and functional reintegration
CETEM joins the European ReCare project, which aims to improve training in community care through a reablement approach focused on restoring the independence of dependent persons.

The ReCare project (KA210-VET-61389AB8) aims to empower formal carers — professionals in the social and health care field — so that they can train and involve volunteers and informal carers in the application of the ‘reablement’ or ‘reintegration’ approach, a methodology focused on restoring people’s autonomy and abilities after an illness or episode of dependency, working with the patient rather than for them.
The consortium is currently in its initial phase, specifically in activity A1 – Kick-off Meeting, held in Gouda (Netherlands) and organised by the SHAFE Foundation. During this meeting, the partners presented the project’s objectives, roles and timetable, and approved the quality, dissemination and sustainability plans. Collaborative and cultural activities were also carried out with the aim of strengthening relationships and transnational cooperation.
The project is aimed at formal carers (nurses, nursing assistants and social and healthcare staff with EQF levels 1–5), informal carers and volunteers, as well as vocational education and training (VET) institutions and social and healthcare organisations interested in integrating the reablement methodology into their programmes.
The meeting in Gouda marks the official launch of the ReCare project, which aims to build a common vision, define the next steps and strengthen the European commitment to active ageing and person-centred care training.
CETEM is actively participating in this project, contributing its experience as a vocational training and technological innovation centre, and will be responsible for developing the ReCare training course, which aims to improve the skills of care professionals and volunteers in Europe.
