CETEM advances in the creation of more inclusive cities and buildings with the AccesS project
CETEM participates in the AccesS project meeting in Massagno, showcasing advances in accessibility, sustainability and inclusive cities through the Universal Accessibility Suite.

Last week, CETEM travelled to Massagno (Switzerland) to participate in two intense and highly productive days with the partners of the AccesS project. During the meeting, the partners presented the progress made in developing the tools that will make up the AccesS Suite, addressing key aspects such as:
- Energy-efficient and sustainable design.
- Comfort and ergonomics in living environments.
- Smart building management and inclusive micro-mobility.
- Large-scale accessibility assessment.
- Progress at the three pilot sites: heritage buildings, residential care homes and public services.
In addition, time was devoted to discussing business models, educational materials, and strategies for disseminating and sustaining the project beyond its official duration. The visit to the ‘Casa Girasole’ pilot project in Massagno provided a first-hand look at an inspiring example of innovation and accessibility in action.
These meetings reinforce the partners’ commitment to the overall objective of the AccesS project, which seeks to revolutionise accessibility and inclusivity in smart buildings and cities through the Universal Accessibility Suite initiative. Through the use of advanced technologies such as AI, BIM and GIS, the project aims to create barrier-free environments, ensure seamless mobility and equitable access to services and resources. It also promotes adaptive and sustainable building operations, as well as inclusive e-mobility and micro-mobility solutions, to ensure more comfortable, accessible and sustainable environments for all.
