ARTEEKO project progress: technical meetings and development of the robotic manipulator for deformable fabrics

ARTEEKO is making progress in the development of a robotic manipulator specialised in deformable fabrics for the upholstered furniture sector.

As part of the ARTEEKO project, the partners have met twice in recent weeks to continue advancing the development of an EOAT robotic manipulator specialised in handling deformable fabrics for the upholstered furniture sector.

The first meeting took place on 23 July in Valencia, where the four participating teams shared their progress. The ai-2 team presented different versions of the robotic gripper prototype they had developed, explaining the tests carried out and justifying their choice of design, which will continue to evolve in the next phases of the project. They also worked on the conceptual design of the electronic system that will accompany the robotic head.

Subsequently, on 30 July, CETEM, AyCN and CFZ Robots partners met at AyCN’s offices to finalise outstanding design aspects and distribute tasks for the next stage of the project.

ARTEEKO seeks to develop a robotic solution that can be adapted to different industrial arms, incorporating artificial vision to accurately interpret and manipulate the deformable fabrics used in upholstery, a major challenge for automation in the sector.
