ALLVIEW publishes guide to improve vocational training in the wood and furniture sector

ALLVIEW launches a guide to improve vocational training in the wood and furniture sector, facilitating the implementation of EU policies. The guide aims to align training provision with market needs, promoting labour mobility and lifelong learning in Europe.

The ALLVIEW association, in the framework of the Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) initiative, has launched the ‘Guide for the implementation of EU VET policies in the wood and furniture sector’. This publication aims to facilitate the understanding and use of European Vocational Education and Training (VET) policies, enabling companies and organisations in the sector to improve the quality of their training offer.

The guide provides a detailed explanation of key EU VET principles and policies, with a specific focus on how they can be applied in the wood and furniture sector. It also provides practical tools to adapt training programmes to the current skills needs of the labour market and industry, promoting innovation and sectoral development.

Among the main objectives of the guide are:

  • Improve transparency and comparability of qualifications in the sector.
  • Facilitate labour mobility in the EU by aligning curricula across countries.
  • Promote permeability between different levels of VET education and training.
  • Support lifelong learning, helping professionals to update their skills throughout their career.
  • Attract young people to the sector by providing a more attractive and up-to-date training offer.

ALLVIEW stresses the importance of aligning vocational training with the specific needs of the sector, ensuring that both current and future workers have the necessary skills to meet the industry’s challenges, such as the digital and ecological transition, climate change and increasing international competition.

The publication of this guide reinforces ALLVIEW’s commitment to excellence in vocational training and the adaptation of the sector to the demands of the European market. To facilitate its dissemination, the guide includes an infographic summarising its main points, making its content more accessible to all interested parties.

With this initiative, ALLVIEW continues to advance its goal of improving the quality of vocational training in the woodworking and furniture industry, contributing to the competitiveness and sustainability of the sector in Europe.
