CETEM continues its analysis on key competences for success in the labour market
The objective of the European project UNDER CONSTRUCTION is to improve the personal and professional skills of VET students in areas related to construction, habitat and industry 4.0

The European project UNDER CONSTRUCTION (Key Skills Making Top Professionals in Construction and Habitat 4.0) is continuing its research into the first phase of the project. The six partners of this initiative are analysing which are the key skills to have success in the labour market in seven different domains such as carpentry, construction, wall and floor paving, joinery, domotics, technologies and design and 3D printing.
The first consortium meeting was held in Maia (Portugal) last January and the partners set the objectives and the tools to be implemented. The second working meeting took place in Fürth (Germany) at the end of July and was the opportunity to evaluate the first results.
CETEM, as a partner of the project, has identified top professionals belonging to the educational field (students and teachers) and labour (workers and employers) directly related to the furniture sector and domotics. With the results obtained, a joint report will be drawn up analysing the necessary skills and the current training options for Vocational Education and Training (VET) in Spain, Portugal, Germany, The Netherlands and Italy.
This project proposes the creation of a guide of key skills required to be a top performer. In addition, a training course and a multilingual e-learning platform will be developed for each domain to deliver the courses. Once the pieces of training have been piloted and validated, a roadmap will be established for the exploitation and inclusion of the courses in official VET systems.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION is an Erasmus + project of the European Commission led by APLOAD Lda, from Portugal, and includes the Asociación Empresarial de Investigación Centro Tecnológico del Mueble y la Madera de la Región de Murcia, from Spain (CETEM), the Institut für Lern-Innovation – Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet Erlangen Nuernberg (ILI-FAU), from Germany, the Consorzio Materahub Industrie Culturali e Creative (MATERAHUB), from Italy, the company MERK, from the Netherlands, and the Centro de Formación Profesional de la Construcción Civil y Obras Públicas del Norte (CICCOPN), also from Portugal.
