Technological innovation in Smart Home and training in the carpentry sector

Explore the progress of the SWEET HOME and XR4CRAFTS projects on technology for autonomy and training in construction. Both projects, closed in July, have shown promising results and great acceptance among professionals and students.

In July, important project closure meetings were held for the projects SWEET HOME y XR4CRAFTS, focused on technological innovation and the use of technology to improve the lives of people with disabilities and training in the construction sector, respectively.

The last meeting of the project took place in Brussels SWEET HOME, an initiative designed to empower people with disabilities through technology. During the meeting, the development of the project was evaluated, and future extensions were discussed. CETEM highlighted the success of the pilot course held in Spain, in which 10 professionals participated and provided very positive feedback. In addition, an online workshop was held with 45 stakeholders from all over Europe, who showed great interest in accessing the training content developed.

In parallel, in Bordeaux, the final meeting of the XR4CRAFTS project was held at the Gironde Building and Public Works Apprenticeship Training Centre. This project has developed virtual and augmented reality scenarios to improve training in the use of machinery in carpentry, masonry, painting and parquet installation. The students tested these technological solutions, receiving great acceptance and considering them a significant advance in their training thanks to the technological innovation provided.
