NEWECOSMART Hackathon Results
The event, framed within the European project NewEcoSmart, which is coordinated by CETEM, allowed participants to develop pioneering ideas in favour of sustainability and digital empowerment.

The NewEcoSmart hackathon (NESHack), held from 18-20 September 2024, concluded with great success after three days of intensive online collaboration, during which teams from Spain, Portugal and Italy worked on innovative solutions addressing challenges related to green and digital transitions, as well as social innovation in rural areas and the habitat sector.
The event, framed within the European project NewEcoSmart, which is coordinated by CETEM, allowed participants to develop pioneering ideas in favour of sustainability and digital empowerment. The teams received support and mentoring throughout the process, enabling them to take their proposals to a competitive level. At the end of the event, the participants presented their projects to a jury of five international members, who praised the creativity and effort of all the groups, noting that the final decision was extremely difficult due to the high standard of the proposals.
In total, 25 participants contributed to this showcase of ideas that seek to address some of Europe’s most pressing environmental and social challenges.
