Pedro Arcas, new President of CETEM and Juan Carlos Muñoz appointed Honorary Member of the entity.
Both agreements were adopted at the ordinary general assembly of CETEM (Centro Tecnológico del Mueble y la Madera) held today, 23 February, at its facilities in Yecla.
After the electoral process called by the board of directors as a result of the resignation of the previous president of CETEM Juan Carlos Muñoz for health reasons, the ordinary general assembly has been held where the only candidacy presented to lead this entity has been unanimously ratified. At the head of the same will be Pedro Arcas who becomes from today the new president being thus the third to occupy this position in the thirty years that already has this technology centre.
Arcas is CEO of the company SENTTIX (Ecus Sleep, S.L.), a leading mattress manufacturer, which he has been managing for more than three decades. He has always stood out for his great involvement in the associative field, having become president of AREMA, the employers’ association for furniture and wood in the Region of Murcia.
In this new board of directors will be accompanied by José Manuel Navarro (Navarro Azorín), Esther Castaño (Sancal Diseño), Juan José Martínez (Tayber Tapizados Convertibles), Alejandro Palao (Interplasp), Francesc Julià (Kave Home), as well as the representatives of the protective members José Antonio Ortega (president AREMA), Patricia Cuadrillero (secretary general AREMA), María Magdalena Martínez (Councillor Industry of the Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Yecla) and Antonio Navarro (Head of Innovation of INFO, on behalf of the Autonomous Community).
This assembly also had a heartfelt remembrance for Juan Carlos Muñoz, who recently passed away at the age of 59, naming him Honorary Member of CETEM, a proposal made by the board of directors weeks ago and which culminated with the unanimous ratification of the ordinary general assembly. Juan Carlos Muñoz was a founding member of CETEM and has belonged to all its boards of directors, chairing the entity for the last twenty years. He has always stood out for his dedication and collaboration in all the associative movements related to the furniture and wood sector, having belonged to the board of AREMA for several decades and even presided over ANIEME, the national association of furniture exporters. His dedication and devotion throughout his life to the world of furniture and wood and, of course, his involvement with innovation in the sector through CETEM have made him worthy of this great recognition, becoming the only person who, to date, holds the title of Honorary Member of the entity.
