CETEM advances professional excellence at ALLVIEW expert meeting
Key representatives of the furniture sector in Murcia met at the second meeting of the ALLVIEW project. A roadmap was established to strengthen professional excellence, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between all parties involved.
In the framework of the ALLVIEW project activities, the second meeting of the working group in charge of strengthening professional excellence through Vocational Training in the furniture and wood sector in the Region of Murcia took place. After a first meeting held in May 2022, this second meeting represented a crucial step to give continuity to the work started.
The central purpose of the meeting, held on 14 May, was to bring together stakeholders with the capacity to drive professional excellence in the skills field in the Region of Murcia, with a special focus on the furniture sector. The venue chosen for this meeting was the Instituto de Fomento (INFO), and was attended by key actors such as AMUEBLA, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), and the Employment and Training Service (SEF), all of them project partners, as well as representatives of entities such as INFO, AREMA, CROEM, Castillo Puche, ETF and AMBIT.
Highlighting the importance of international collaboration, there was the online participation of José Manuel Galvín from the European Training Foundation, who gave a talk on professional excellence. In addition, Juan Ángel Pastor Franco, vice-rector of studies at UPCT, shared details about the university’s work on micro-credentials.
During the meeting, a thorough review of the minutes of the first meeting was carried out to assess the progress made and identify areas requiring further attention. Following a constructive discussion, a new roadmap was established for the coming years, with the aim of moving forward in promoting professional excellence in the sector.
In order to formalise the commitments made, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed, which represents a declaration of intent between all parties involved. It is important to remember that the ALLVIEW project has the fundamental objective of setting up the first European Dual VET Network of centres of professional excellence in the furniture and wood sector, which makes these meetings a crucial step towards the achievement of this ambitious goal.
