CETEM Visits Astilleros Nereo in Malaga for the European Project AHOD360
CETEM has visited Astilleros Nereo in Malaga for the European project AHOD360. This shipyard, one of the oldest in Spain, is a benchmark in shipbuilding. The visit will create a 360º virtual experience to learn about the traditional processes of building wooden boats.
CETEM has made a visit to the emblematic Nereo Shipyard, in Malaga, as part of the European project AHOD360. This shipyard, one of the oldest in Spain dedicated to shipbuilding, is part of the National Plan for Industrial Heritage and is listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest. Recognised as one of the greatest exponents of traditional craftsmanship in the construction of wooden boats in the Mediterranean basin, Astilleros Nereo is a benchmark in the preservation of centuries-old techniques.
The purpose of CETEM’s visit has been to prepare a 360º virtual experience inside the shipyard’s facilities, which will allow an interactive visit to the different traditional shipbuilding processes. Through this virtual visit, users will be able to learn first-hand about the methods used by shipwrights, guided by experts in the trade, and immerse themselves in the history and craftsmanship of wooden shipbuilding.
