CETEM successfully holds the INSET project’s National Workshop on Industrial Symbiosis
The event brought together more than 20 participants, including companies, trainers, students, researchers and representatives of public administrations, with the common goal of exploring how Industrial Symbiosis (IS) can drive sustainability, innovation and competitiveness in regional industries.

On 10 November 2025, CETEM successfully hosted the INSET project workshop, entitled ‘Your path to Industrial Symbiosis.’
The event brought together more than 20 participants, including companies, trainers, students, researchers and representatives of public administrations, with the common goal of exploring how Industrial Symbiosis (IS) can drive sustainability, innovation and competitiveness in regional industries.
During the conference, CETEM presented the main resources developed within the INSET Toolkit, including:
- The INSET Training Course, aimed at IS Planner and IS Manager profiles;
- The Publication of Good Practices, which compiles real examples of the application of Industrial Symbiosis;
- The SI Networking Manual, which offers practical guidelines to facilitate collaboration between diverse actors;
- And the INSET Mobile Application, which integrates all materials and tools into an accessible, digital platform.
The workshop also included interactive sessions and discussion forums, where attendees were able to exchange experiences, identify potential synergies and analyse how to apply INSET resources in their local environment.
Participants emphasised the importance of continuing awareness-raising activities, promoting pilot projects that demonstrate real synergies, and continuing to integrate INSET tools into regional circular economy strategies.
The results and contributions gathered will serve as the basis for the next phases of the INSET project, including the creation of the European Observatory on Industrial Symbiosis, coordinated by CETEM.
