ACTIVATOR starts development of content for its e-learning platform

ACTIVATOR held its first official online meeting to discuss national good practices and plan training content and an innovative e-learning platform for adults.

On 12 June 2024, the ACTIVATOR project consortium met for its first official online meeting. This event represented a great opportunity for the project partners to discuss examples of national good practices identified during the research phase. Furthermore, it allowed to assess how the ACTIVATOR project offers an innovative approach to the adult learning sector, especially in an area where it has not been easy to find initiatives for trainers of older adults.

One of the main objectives of the project is to promote non-formal education as a fundamental tool in adult education and as a complement to formal education. During the meeting, the partners discussed the activities and progress made so far and detailed the next steps of the project. These include the creation of training content for the ACTIVATOR Handbook and the start of the preparation of the e-learning platform.

The consortium showed great enthusiasm and commitment to the development of this innovative proposal, which aims to contribute to the improvement of the educational offer for adults, with a particular focus on the involvement of older adults in Citizen Science.

What is ACTIVATOR?

A project aimed at encouraging the participation of senior citizens in citizen science initiatives. Empowering older people with scientific knowledge helps to trigger social change and mitigate the effects of many diseases. ACTIVATOR achieves this by training the staff of adult organisations on how to effectively educate and involve older people in Citizen Science initiatives.
